BADLAND is an atmospheric side-scrolling action adventure located in a gorgeous forest full of various inhabitants, trees and flowers. Although the forest looks like it’s from some beautiful fairytale, there seems to be something terribly wrong. The player controls one of the forest’s inhabitants to discover what’s going on. Through his journey he discovers astonishing amount of imaginative traps and obstacles.
BADLAND takes side-scrollers to the next level with its innovative physics based gameplay combined with the extremely beautiful atmospheric graphics and audio.
BADLAND also features highly original local multiplayer for up to four players playing with the same device. The multiplayer is all about survival of the fittest with no rules in the BADLAND forest. It’s completely okay to push your rivals to spinning circular saws in order to survive.
BADLAND has been designed specifically for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch and uses one-touch controls to give the player the best possible control mechanics. In addition, the graphics have been designed to fully use the Retina Display of these devices. The result is an highly immersive, addicting gaming experience.

BADLAND has been developed by Frogmind, a new independent two-man game studio located in Helsinki, Finland. The studio was founded in 2012 by two industry veterans Johannes Vuorinen and Juhana Myllys. Although there are just the two of us here in Frogmind, our goal is to make games that in the end have equal high standard production values like any big game companies out there.
|Johannes Vuorinen is an experienced game programmer and gamer. Before co-founding Frogmind, he was the lead programmer of the Trials Evolution editor. Trials Evolution (Xbox360) has been a huge hit (metascore 90) and its editor has been praised in all of its reviews. Johannes has played games all his life. In his youth, he was an active online first person shooter gamer in games such as Quake, Action Quake 2 and Return to Castle Wolfenstein. Nowadays, when he doesn’t code games, he plays various, mostly indie games both in PC/consoles and mobile.
|Juhana Myllys is an accomplished game artist and graphic designer. Although he was graduated as an industrial designer his passion has always been games. Juhana’s latest projects before going indie were Motoheroz for Wii and iOS (Metascore 82) and Trials Evolution (Xbox360). In Motoheroz he worked as a lead artist, designer and level designer and in Trials Evolution he worked as a concept artist. Juhana became a gamer in a very early age when he discovered the amazing Commodore 64. After that platforms evolved from Amiga to Nintendo and from Playstation to Xbox360 but Juhana’s passion for games has remained the same. These days he most commonly plays with his iPad.
The game does not sync my game progress between my iOS devices. What’s wrong?
For iCloud to work, make sure you have it enabled on all of your devices in your device’s Settings -> iCloud -> “Documents & Data”. Some users have reported that they have needed to enable also “Use Cellular Data” in the iCloud settings to get it working.
Also, make sure you have the same iCloud account used in your devices and that every device is connected to the internet.
Then, start the game, play one level and now the game progress should get synced between devices.
The game won’t start. All I can see is a splash screen with Frogmind logo.
Try rebooting your device and try again. If rebooting does not help, some users have reported that resetting their device to factory settings and reinstalling the game has helped. If these steps do not help, please contact us through the contact form below and report which device model and iOS version you have.
There’s no sound!
Make sure the mute switch on the side of the device is not set to mute. Check that the volume in the device is set to audible by pressing the knobs on the side of the device. Finally make sure that the in-game volume slider is set to audible through main menu’s options menu (top-right corner).
If you still cannot hear any sound, try rebooting your device and try again. If that does not help, check a few other apps that they play sound normally. If they do not, resetting your device to factory settings might help but make sure that you have backups first.
I am unhappy with the game. I’d like to get a refund.
